Holiday Rental Cottage Description
The cottage is situated in beautiful Vendee countryside approximately an hours drive from the vendee coast and within easy reach of La Rochelle, Poitiers and Nantes Airports. Comfortably sleeping four adults the cottage has original beamed ceilings, two double bedrooms which both have their own wc and bathroom or shower en suite. All windows are double glazed.
The village is a traditional small french village within easy reach of Fontenay le Comte, Vouvent and Mervent. attractions within easy driving distance include Puy de Fou theme Park and Futuroscope. Vendee beaches are around an hours drive away and locally there are walks and cycle rides through Mervent Forest and the local countryside, fishing and canoeing in Mervent village and a local Zoo which has recently been refurbished. Also within easy driving distance is the "Venise Vert" a slendid range of waterways on which you can either hire a punt and take to the water yourself or hire a punt and a boatman to do the hard work for you, a lovely relaxing way to spend a few hours seeing the countryside.
Restaurants, bars and shops are available in Vouvent, a village full of history and legend and with lovely walks along the river banks. The town of Fontenay le Comte offers plenty of shops and restaurants and is approximately 15kms drive away.
The cottage is fully equipped with comfy seating in the living area around a wood burner, there is a television with sattelite programmes and a dvd with a large selection of dvds available. The kitchen has plentiful cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils and has a full sized cooker, refrigerator and washing machine (situated in the porch) There is also a toaster and mini oven/ grill for snacks. A full size dining table and four chairs compete the dining area. The downstairs bedroom is furnished with double bed, wardrobe and armchairs and has a shower room and a separate w.c. off. Upstairs is a further bedroom furnished with double bed, bedside drawers and wardrobe area, this bedroom has an en suite bathroom with bath, hand basin and w.c. Within the garden there is table and chairs and barbecue, a covered veranda for when the sun is just too hot and a patio area - there are a couple of sun loungers available in the cottage.
There is also a supply of board games and books and a cd player and radio.
Rental prices quoted are based on 4 people, discounts are available for parties of less than 4 - please contact owner for quote. All prices include electricity and gas charges.
Mid week to mid week bookings taken, subject to availability.
Short breaks are also available, charges are from £35 to £50 per night, please contact the owner for availability and quotation.
