Guide to Marbella

Marbella Holiday Rental Guide

Marbella is one of the most famous cities on the Costa del Sol. It has built up a reputation for itself over the last few decades as a playground for the super rich, and this is in evidence throughout the city. It is also a popular tourist spot, attracting people from Spain and around the world with its exciting nightlife and the numerous activities that it has to offer. However, for those looking for a more peaceful time, Marbella is also a suitable place to visit or indeed to live.

Back in the 1940s, Marbella was just one of the many seaside villages that spanned the length of the Costa del Sol. However, soon after this its reputation began to grow as a party town for the rich and famous, and this has only developed further over the years up until the present day. However, Marbella provides far more than just a showground for the rich, and it has enough points of interest to provide a perfect holiday location or place to live for a wide range of people.

To experience all the excitement, glitz and glamour of Marbella, we recommend that you head down to Puerto Banus. This stunning marina is the very centre of the leisure industry in Marbella, and is the place where the rich and famous go to see and to be seen. You will find numerous expensive yachts to look at and admire, and you can marvel at the wealth on display from the comfort of one of the many bars and restaurants that adorn the marina. Puerto Banus is a delightful place to stroll, and you can pop into a few shops during your stroll or even head to the casino if you're feeling lucky.

One thing that we would say attracts people to Marbella above all others is its natural setting. The perfect, golden beaches stretch all along the south coast, and on the other you will be able to enjoy a stunning mountain range, which offers the opportunity for walking and hiking if you feel like a change from lying on the beach. The surrounding views are amazing, and many people choose to buy property in Marbella to live in or book a holiday villa rental in order to take advantage of these whilst still enjoying all the benefits that the city has to offer.

Whether you want fun and excitement or peace and quiet, you can head down to La Fontanilla Beach. This vast golden expanse of sand offers plenty for everyone, whether you want to hang out with the crowds in the main area or whether you prefer to head out to the outskirts for a bit more peace and quiet. No matter where you go, you will always find plenty of room to sunbathe.

Marbella is also a city with a lot of history, and if you would like to go exploring then we recommend that you head to Casco Antiguo, the old town. This is the very opposite to Puerto Banus, offing peace and quiet as well as wonderful old buildings and small streets to explore. However, this being Marbella, you will also find lots of designer boutiques hidden away to be discovered.

You will find when you go to Marbella that it is a place of contrasts. The difference between Puerto Banus and Casco Antiguo is just one of the many contrasts on offer, for although Marbella is a city you will also be able to find a number of natural settings to explore. These include a large number of stunning gardens and parks throughout the city, including Alameda Park, packed full of incredible statues and tropical flowers. If you want a real natural experience, we suggest that you head to the bonsai museum, which provides one of the best bonsai collections in the world.

As well as all this, Marbella also has all that you would expect from any big city. You will find a huge range of bars and restaurants for all tastes, as well as numerous nightclubs where you will be able to party the night away.

Marbella also benefits from an ideal location in terms of travelling to and from the city. Malaga Airport is a short 40 minute drive away, so if you travel to and from the UK frequently then it is ideal. And although there is plenty on offer in the city, if you feel like getting out and seeing a few more places of interest then Seville, Cordoba and Granada are all within easy reach. For the really adventurous, you may even want to head over to Tangier in Morocco, as there are not many places in the world where you can say you are popping over to Africa for the weekend.
